JUNIOR DRAFTSPERSON (STEEL FABRICATION)

  • M & G STEEL LTD – Internship (1st Co-op Term Placement)
  • January 2019 – April 2019 – 4 months

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of detail drawings for the fabrication of steel members.
  • Preparation of CNC files for transfer to shop equipment.
  • Coordinate the issue and control of drafting related documents.
  • Occasional site visits involving field measurements.

ACHIEVEMENTS


Special National award for the design and building of a solar powered model car and a built model of a town incorporating sustainability feature. (November 2015)

Involvement in Junior Achievers where I gained exposure of business aspects for a non-profitable organization. I functioned in the capacity of Vice President of Marketing in my company. (January 2016)

Participation and leadership roles in the RBC Young Leaders Project, where our chosen theme was solely based on Cyber Bulling. Initiated a nation-wide petition to implement laws against Cyber Bulling. (September 2015)

Involvement in Presidents Medal Association at the Bronze level. (September 2015)

Honoured with several Visual Art and Creative Awards for diversity is several art forms from past institutions attended. (September 2016- 2017)

Designing of logos, drawings, painting and mixed media as well as graphic representation for various art exhibitions. (September 2012 – 2017)

Awarded a trophy of high honour, The Mrs. Helen Marjorie Smith Brathwaite Memorial Trophy for Excellence in Visual and Performing Arts. (May 2017)


VOLUNTEER WORK


Over forty hours of community service spend at a wildlife sanctuary,” Wildfowl Trust”, where I was able to gain knowledge based on the environment where I soon developed an interest in sustainability features.

Enrolled in an organization called Junior Guides where I learnt about life experiences. Clocked more community service hours helping the elderly and children for many years.

Volunteered in several after school activities and functions which helped to build my public speaking and leadership skills.

Helped to raise money for cancer awareness by designing a huge banner by hands-on work which included various art forms and took days to complete. (August 2016)

Volunteered in various math competitions. (September 2013-2015)
