Residential design runs through the entire three years study. I learned how to design a functional and aesthetic multi-family house in the studio 2. Wood structure and framing was taught in this course. Then, I had studio 5 which is focus on mid-rise condominium with retail on the ground floor. I also had advanced residential design course which focuses on energy efficient, single family residential design. I followed a residential design process from the problem definition stage through to advanced design development.

During three years study, I had Architectural Detailing courses in residential and commercial building. These courses help me develop an understanding of technical building detailing and construction practices as they relate to residential and commercial building. I also learned Inter-relation of freehand drawn details and actual site-built construction as well as which parts of a house need to be detailed, how these details relate to the overall building aesthetic and how to develop a detail from a design concept drawing.
Architectural Computer Visualization helped me explore techniques to produce photo-realistic design presentation graphics (still and animated) efficiently in Revit, 3DsMAX and Photoshop. I developed advanced strategies for computer modeling buildings and environments (both man-made and organic) using solids, surfaces, and plug-ins. I used stock material libraries, build complex custom materials, and map materials in 3DsMAX. Then, I created photo-realistic lighting (natural, artificial, and production), and achieved photo-realistic shading. The presentation images are finalized in Photoshop.
In addition to recall or find information from Ontario Building Code, I achieved knowledge that inclueds: 1. Understanding and applying the language of the Ontario Building Code to solve problems. 2. Evaluating and assessing solutions to Building Code problems by way of planning and design. 3. Analyzing various small buildings in terms of code compliance by way of writing. 4. Designing solutions to building code requirements by way of drawing.
I have always loved drawing; this passion has been inborn in me ever since I was in elementary school. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to create things that people would enjoy and that would make their days seem to little bit brighter. If I can do that with my art then I feel like I have really accomplished something great.
