LAYERING STANDARDS

July 2000

Layers will be used to organize drawings and drawing entities. The following conventions will be used to create layers and organize the entities:

A.  

Each Layer name will have no less than six characters. The characters will represent the following:
  

First Character:

B.    The Layer COLOR and LINETYPE should be set to the dominant lineweight and linetype of the entities grouped on that layer. Entities are grouped on the appropriate Layer and then their entity properties of COLOR and LINETYPE should be adjusted, if needed, to standard drafting conventions for lineweight and linetype.
  
C.    Work within the Layers listed above. Discuss new Layers with the Instructor prior to their implementation.
  
D.   See the Sheridan CAD Color standard for assumptions on Lineweight and Color.
