MODULE # 07: INTERIOR DETAILING- Hollow Metal Screens

Learning Outcomes

"By the end of the module, Learners will be able to:

 Hollow Metal Screens

Office areas, lobbies and / or waiting areas often require borrowed light to brighten them or vision panels for supervision purposes.  Often an interior view is desired without the sound interruption or a separation is required for security purposes.  In these situations, designers choose to place vision panels in their partition walls.

Hollow metal screens are a series of doors and glazing units used in combination as a separating partition. They are manufactured from sheet metal (usually galvanized steel of various gauges) bent in a "brake" to form strong mullions capable of receiving doors or glass panels.

The frame models vary in profile with intended application.

F Series for use in a masonry wall
DW Series for use in a GWB partition
A Series adjustable for custom depths
DE Series for Double Egress
TB  Series thermally broken

the above application will affect the anchorage method see the attached steelcraft door PDF file or autocad dwf file
