TASK 04 - Representative Working Drawings for the Maclean Residence - Floorplans

By now you should have the floorplan walls, doors and windows completed.

Make sure you add the following:

Add the exterior steps:

Add two steps to the entry doors as shown. The tread length is 10". Make sure the landing under the door is latge enough by code.

The door between the garage and the link only requires one step; the other step is the sloped concrete step in front of the garage door (the slope is 3' x 16' ).

Add the floor overhang (the open to above areas):

Create a new layer called A01floor-overhang (colour green, linetype hidden2) and draw the overhang from the second floor.

Add the roof overhang :

Create a new layer called A01roof-overhang (colour green, linetype hidden2) and draw the overhang from the second floor.

The roof is a gable roof ; the overhang at the gable ends is 6" and the overhang at the sloped ends is 12". Note that the roof overhang needs to be trimmed at the chimneys!

Add the kitchen, washroom and laundry room fixtures:

Create layers for the countertops, kitchen cabinets, fixtures, and times and draw the following:

Add the counters in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Add the fixtures.
On layer A01TILE, trace around the fixtures. Use LAYOFF to turn off the fixtures, doors, cabinates and countertops, then hatch the tiles. use 4"x4" or 6"x6" tiles for the washrooms and laundry room, and use a 6"x6" or 12"x12" tile for the kitchen.

On a future class we will discuss adding the annotation: Text, symbols and dimensions, and the Legend.
