TASK 05 - Collins Office/Warehouse - Preliminary Architectural Floor Plans

Required:

Fully coordinated Architectural First Floor Plan.

The plans are to include:

Interior and exterior walls with hatching, columns, exterior glazing, door swings and door numbers, loading dock doors and dock levelers, stairs, steps and elevator shaft, room names and numbers (office and warehouse for now, NO PARTITIONS), finished floor elevations and other notes as required, grids, annotations, dimensions, cross-referencing symbols for details and sections.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare assembled drawing 21xxA01.DWG (xx is the team number) which has:
   1. Titleblock in Layout - Job no on sheet to read 19xx. Use the team's title block prepared for Exercise 9.
   2. Viewports showing complete ground floor plan zoomed at 1:100 scale.
   3. XREF in 21xxOFP1.DWG and 21xxWH1.DWG
      (Note: all xrefs should be accessed using the current directory - no paths).
        
2. Teams are to create and use the following blocks:
   1. RMNO - room number (in a rectangle) and name with attributes:
      1. RMNO - Room number
      2. RMNAME1 - first line of name
      3. RMNAME2 - second line of name
   2. DRNO - door number symbol (circle) with attribute:
      1. DRNO - door number

The information in these blocks will be later extracted and used to construct door and frame and room finish schedules. Add these blocks to your team's symbol library.

Submit to SLATE: A ZIPPED folder containing the following

• PDF of checkplot of Assembled Drawing 21xxA01.DWG
• All relevant files in a zipped file submitted on SLATE.
• PDF checkplots of individual drawings 21xxOFP1.DWG and 21xxWH1.DWG
• Transmittal form. NOTE: Assigment will not be accepted without a properly filled in transmittal form!

Note:

• Each team must hand in all the files from the TEAM TOGETHER in ONE folder. Individual submissions of files are meaningless.
• Keep multiple backup copies of all drawings.
• Do NOT email the file to the Instructor - create a compressed (ZIP) folder and place it in SLATE. Due to the size of the files and the number of referenced files this semester, emailing the files is not an option and any files recieved by email will be ignored.

Team Member tasks:

Member A:

1. Create a GRID-COORDINATION drawing for use by the team in the creation of the plans.
   Include dimensions and grid bubbles as attributed blocks.
   Save the drawing as GRIDxx.DWG.
     
   
      
     
2. Create a drawing named 21xxOFP1.DWG. XREF the GRIDxx.DWG in, and "clip" the warehouse part of the grid.
   Prepare to team's standards the preliminary Architectural floor plans for the ground floor of the office area.
   
   This is a preliminary floorplan only. For the finished floorplan, the following would be added (we won't do this due to time constraints): men's and women's washrooms complete with lavatory and water closet, a coffee counter with a sink and a coat rack, a reception area, and a boardroom.   
   

   
   Insert the revised titleblock drawing (from member B) into a layout and complete the prompts from the attributes.

Member B:

1. Create a drawing named 21xxWH1.DWG. XREF the GRIDxx.DWG, and "clip" the office part of the grid.
   Prepare to team's standards the Architectural Floor Plan for the warehouse area.
   
   This is a preliminary floorplan only. For the finished floorplan, the following would be added (we won't do this due to time constraints): a locker room with 10 lockers and a table for seating 10 employees with an attached accessible washroom, window to the outside, accessible to the hallway and entrance at grid 4.   
   
   
     
   Insert the revised titleblock into a layout and complete the prompts from the attributes.
     
2. Use the team's title block prepared for Exercise 9 and add the attributes to it.   
   
      

Notes:

• You must use paperspace (layouts), i.e. the titleblock is inserted on the layout and not in modelspace. The layout should contain the titleblock, viewports, and titles only.
