Exercise 4 - Design Drawing Titleblock

The following exercise will demonstrate how to create an ANSI-D size simple design drawing titleblock.


  1. Start a new drawing in inches.
     
  2. Draw a 34"x22" rectangle. This will be the titleblock outer edges.
     
  3. Offset the top, right, and bottom lines in 1/4"; offset the left line in 3/4".
     
  4. Offset the inner right line 3" to the left to create the block area on the titleblock.

  5. Offset lines up in the block area to create the fields. The fields are multiples of 1/2" high.
     
  6. Create areas for the following fields:

The above fields are the minimum required for this type of titleblock; if desired, you can add fields for the Company name and Logo, Project Number, Architect's seal...
