Final Project - Wrap up - Main Web Page

Overview:

Create a main web page for your personal web site. This should be the first page visitors to your site see, and should include links to your resume page, your portfolio page, a link to the Sheridan College homepage, and links to other related sites and web pages of interest.

MAKE SURE THE NAME IS index.html and that it is on the ROOT folder of your configured dreamweaver local site!

Scope of Work:

Plan the main navigation of your web site

The main web page layout should include a navigation bar. This navigation bar should be added to the pages from tasks 1 and 2, and MUST present a consistent look and feel when navigating between these pages.
Create an anchor tag for each of the elements on your navigation bar, or use an image map. The navigation bar or menu must be simple, easy to use, and intuitive, and should include links to:

your portfolio page (portfolio.html)
your resume page (resume.html)
An "about me" page showing a brief bio about you and your interests
A "links" page. This page should include links to:

the Trantor academic server home page
Sheridan College Home Page
Any other related links

using an HTML editor, create the framework for the navigation bar you wish to display. Save the HTML document as index.html and place it in the root of your personal web folder on trantor.

Note:

When working on your page layout, you should also take into consideration the background colour and/or texture pattern to be used, the font size and colour, etc.. This should be done in conjunction with tasks 1 and 2, so all your web pages have a consistent look and feel.

Create the main web page content

Continue working on the index.html page.

using a graphics editor such as Adobe Photoshop, create any images (buttons, texture patterns, graphics) you wish to place on the main web page. This page should include a brief welcome paragraph, a quick summary of yourself and your work, and any other information you wish to show visitors to your site.

Note: Your main web page and the navigation bar will give visitors to your site their first impression of you and your work. To keep their interest, make sure that these pages are as "interesting" and as "well designed" as possible.

copy all the images created to the "img" folder on your personal web folder on trantor.

Submission Requirements:

Submit the web file index.html to your personal web folder on trantor, and ensure that all related images are placed in the "img" folder on your trantor website as well.

Your frame pages should be fully accessible from anywhere on the Internet by entering the URL:

http://trantor.sheridanc.on.ca/student/xxxxxxxx
where xxxxxxxx is your CAD Lab Login id.

Note: If your web file is not accessible under the above URL, it will be presumed missing and you will receive a zero for this assignment (there is no way to search the web server for misnamed files).

The files will be reviewed and copied off the trantor site at the due date. Make sure all your files are correct and on the trantor site by the due date. Any late submissions will not be accepted, for any reason.
