Admitted to U of T’s Architecture program to study theory, design, psychology and art history. Then I came to Sheridan to become an Architectural Technologist because design is my passion; solving layout issues, creating efficient and conscientious floor plans, and considering the psychological needs of the individual. In addition to my course load this term, I’ve completed two REVIT courses during my free time; I am constantly developing and honing my skills by learning the latest software. I am committed to crafting designs that are fresh, modern and innovative; sample designs reflecting these qualities can be found in my portfolio.
Strong organization and communication skills are also attributes I will bring to the workplace. Ifeanyi Onuoha said, “Teamwork is the secret that makes common people achieve uncommon results.” I usually undertake the responsibility of team leader in group projects because I am good at managing relationships as well as fusing the ideas of my peers to achieve optimal results. My career goal is to one day become a Senior Technologist. It will give me the opportunity to share and gain knowledge with individuals specializing in different areas, evoking diverse solutions and generating a richer depth of design overall.
I have always been drawn to the excitement of working under pressure, which is why I first began working in restaurants. Eventually, I became a Red Seal certified Chef, working at Opus; one of the top restaurants in Toronto. It was also the place that allowed me to explore my creativity and communicate with visual mediums.
