01. Balance |
||
Architectural Visualisation |
Taught by Adrian Bica | Winter 2021 |
Project Summary |
For this project, students were asked to design a submission for an architectural design contest. I chose a contest that asked participants to submit a design for a 2-person cabin that would be located on the rocky cliffs of Portugal. For this projecti I aimed to create a cabin that offers an experience that would only be possible at a small scale. To achieve this I created a unique structural system that creates the illustion of a floating cabin between two steel members that act as both structural and design elements. |

02. Paisley Mill |
||
Architectural Studio 6 |
Taught by Dr. Shannon Pirie | Winter 2021 |
Project Summary |
This project was an adaptive reuse project where students were asked to repurpose and retrofit an flour mill in Paisley, Ontario. We were challenged to perserve the existing siding, roof, and front elevation as much as possible. I chose to focus on a rear addition that retained as many of the original ground floor windows as possible. The ground level includes an exterior patio under and cafe. The second and third floor are flexible use event spaces. |

03. 1056 Queen St. W. |
||
Architectural Studio 5 |
Taught by David Peterson | Fall 2020 |
Project Summary |
Students were asked to create a mixed-use multiresidential building on a corner lot, located at 1056 Queen St. W. in Toronto. I wanted to create multi-storey units since that would be suitable for small families or young adults. The ground floor features and artist's space as well as a cafe and gallery. The building's exterior features public seating and and gathering space around the existing birch tree. |
