Fire Station Renovation Project Adaptive Reuse Project Mid-Rise Building


Proposed design for an Emergency Response Station located at the Ninth-Line,Mississauga, ON. This building is designed to serve multiplepurposes. It is mainly divided into threeparts, and they can be classified as theoffice area, the residential area, and theoperational area. The main intention of thisdesign was to provide a homely environmentand a comfortable working space to the firepersonnel. To reduce the environmental impact of thebuilding and making the project siteaccessible and community attraction wasalso one of the main goals. The other objective was to introduce a semi-public transitional space by improving theinterior environment by giving value todaylight and ventilation. In addition to this, the site was developed bykeeping in focus the fire route, publiccirculation, and the sustainability of the site.

Considering site location, Geography and neighbourhood studies this building is proposed to be converted into a hotel which will have a restaurant on the Ground floor and amenities such as Gym, Game room, and Meditation room is on the 2nd Floor. The 3rd floor is designed for living space where hotel guests can stay and enjoy the view towards the Tees water river and Paisley Farms
