AutoCAD EXPERIENCE:

The knowledge acquired during the Architectural Technologies program includes:

  • Producing quality simple 2D residential design and working drawings using AutoCAD using efficient drawing techniques, produce hardcopy plots of these drawings.
  • Accurately displaying lineweights, dimensioning, lettering, and hatching with the use of AutoCAD techniques such as Layers and Plotting Styles.
  • Creating and using blocks and symbols with accurate lineweights and dimensions to ease the process of developing 2d drawings.
  • Creating attributes for data in CAD working drawings in order to extract same data into Microsoft Excel and effectively manipulate it to create estimates or quantity take-offs.
  • Working collaboratively; communicating and exchanging drawings and information with techniques such as External Referencing.
  • Using layouts to best showcase a drawing, using multiple viewports, layouts, and sheets to the right scale.
  • Exporting 3D solid models into rendering software (Lumion).

Autodesk REVIT EXPERIENCE:

The knowledge acquired during the Architectural Technologies program includes:

  • Create custom parametric buildings, elements, drafting objects, custom building components, custom views, non-parametric detailing, annotation, drawing sheets, schedules, legends, and sitework.
  • Editing of project settings, parametric building elements, drafting objects, building components, views and view properties, non-parametric detailing and drafting views, drawing sheets, schedules and legends, and sitework.
  • Create small projects, adding appropriate 2D and 3D working drawings and rendered views.
  • Organize multiple phases within a project development timeline.
  • Prepare a representative set of working drawings for a medium sized Public building which includes a site plan, OBC matrix, floor plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Use 2D, 3D and rendering software to increase drawing efficiency and improve quality of architectural design presentations and working drawings. (Photoshop, Lumion)
  • Provide critical analysis of drawings for OBC compliance, preparing a thorough building code analysis for a medium sized public building.
  • Work co-operatively in a small team to meet tight deadlines by participating in the planning and management of a project's work in progress.
  • Research and apply sustainable design concepts to their designs as they relate to energy (conservation and renewable) water management and material selection.
